Did you know in BC many tertiary education programs are free for seniors? This incentive supports seniors who are interested in lifelong learning. Many acclaimed institutions across BC provide free or subsidized tuition as part of this initiative (e.g. Simon Fraser University (SFU) Seniors Program and University of British Columbia (UBC) for 65+). There are also several opportunities if you are interested in “lighter” learning such as participation in a workshop or class, e.g. Kwantlen Polytechnic University’ Third Age Learning at Kwantlen (TALK) for adults over 50.
Many community centres, libraries and other public facilities also host a lineup of courses with special rates or gratis for seniors in areas such as pottery, music and drawing.
